This July and August, the Saratoga Springs History Museum invites you to experience the historic Canfield Casino like never before with our Summer Ghost Tours of the Canfield Casino — a thrilling 90-minute guided tour through the haunted halls, mysterious rooms, and eerie stories of one of Saratoga’s most famous buildings.
Once the glittering heart of Saratoga’s Gilded Age social scene, the Canfield Casino welcomed gamblers, socialites, politicians, celebrities, and high-society visitors from around the world. But long after the music stopped, the cards were put away, and the crowds disappeared, stories began to linger.
Whispers in empty rooms.
Footsteps with no one there.
Strange sensations on the upper floors.
And encounters that even seasoned investigators struggled to explain.

The Canfield Casino has earned a reputation as one of Saratoga’s most mysterious and spine-tingling landmarks. Over the years, visitors, staff, and paranormal investigators have reported unexplained sights, sounds, and sensations throughout the building.
The Casino was even featured on SYFY’s Ghost Hunters in 2010, when the TAPS team conducted an overnight investigation inside the building. During their visit, the investigators explored the winding halls and upper floors of the Casino, where reports of paranormal activity have long captured the imagination of ghost hunters and curious visitors alike. Accounts from the investigation included unexplained sounds, strange physical sensations, and other chilling moments that left the building’s haunted reputation stronger than ever.
The Canfield Casino has also been recognized as one of America’s Most Terrifying Places, as featured on the Travel Channel — and once you step inside, you may understand why.
