The Saratoga Springs History Museum is delighted to present a captivating evening of live historical storytelling!
Join us for “Madison and Jefferson’s Northeast Adventures in 1791,” a FREE one-man performance Starring Kyle Jenks, known for He Belongs to Us (2018), Renegade Darlings, and The American Miracle (2025), brings to life the fascinating journey of James Madison and Thomas Jefferson as they toured the Northeast during the early days of the American republic.
In this dramatic retelling, President Madison reflects on the time he and Secretary of State Jefferson took a road trip—yes, even Founding Fathers took road trips!—for “health, recreation, and curiosity.” Along the way, they visited General Philip Schuyler in Albany, toured the Saratoga Battlefield, and stood on the very ground where British General Burgoyne surrendered—what Jefferson later called “the place of Burgoyne’s misfortune.”
This performance offers a rare glimpse into the personal side of two of our nation’s founders, with humor, humanity, and historical insight woven throughout.
All are welcome. Bring friends, family, and your curiosity!
Following the performance, guests are invited to linger, mingle, and perhaps join the performer and fellow attendees for a bit of post-show merriment in town.
We look forward to sharing this evening of history, reflection, and storytelling with you.
